Smartcane
Ohne neue Technologien wäre das Gesundheitssystem wohl aufgeschmissen! Es gibt Herzschrittmacher, bei Operationen werden Roboter eingesetzt und mit Hilfe von modernen Geräten können Menschen mit Hörschwäche besser hören. Sehbehinderte Menschen sind aber noch auf den weißen Langstock (Blindenstock) angewiesen, der sich in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten wenig weiterentwickelt hat. Riya Karumanchi aus Kanada will das mit dem SmartCane ändern.
Without new technologies, the health care system would probably be lost: pacemakers are available, robots are used in operations and modern devices help people with hearing loss to hear better. Visually impaired people, however, still depend on the white long cane (cane for the blind), which has developed little in recent decades. Riya Karumanchi from Canada wants to change this with the SmartCane.
